Tekla BIMsight is a construction collaboration tool that lets everyone in the industry tap into the BIM (Building Information Modeling) process for free. Here you can find additional background information about the software and its history.
Tekla BIMsight is aimed at contractors, architects, engineers, detailers, fabricators or anyone participating in BIM project workflow. Users can improve their workflow by combining models, checking for clashes, and collaborating with each other in any construction project.
Tekla BIMsight was first launched February 14th 2011.
Other releases:
Tekla BIMsight is available in five major languages in addition to English: Spanish, German, French, Chinese and Japanese. The software also has support for touch controls, which can be used with Windows tablet PCs.
Tekla BIMsight has been a great success with tens of thousands of installations. And what's best, Tekla BIMsight is free.
Learning how to use the software is easy. With the help of video tutorials and an online customer community anyone can start working with building information models and collaborating with other users.
”It is important to understand that BIM is not just about using 3D models. BIM is a centralized process that requires cooperation and goodwill between the construction disciplines. This is exactly what we want to achieve with the Tekla BIMsight software. Our part of the goodwill is to distribute it for free for the whole industry,” explains Tekla's Executive Vice President Risto Räty.
