sharing models

I have followed the directions found in the help topic for model sharing but it will not work correctly. I am using V1.8 and can't get it to do it without saving the model as a package and then deleting and reopening it each time on another computer. The refresh icon does not appear when changes have been republished. There seems to be a lot of errors with this version.

Hi Garth, Sorry to hear about the issue. There are some steps in the beginning of the project which needs to be done correctly to enable the sharing capability. I've few questions about the issue to check that you're following these steps in a right way. - I guess you've created the shared project in a way shown in the following tutorial video http://www.teklabimsight.com/helpcenter/helpTopic.jsp?topic=bim_setting_default_model_folder - Are you using some file sharing solution (e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive etc.) or a network drive to share the project information? - If you're using some file sharing service is the local syncing capability of the used solution up and running in all computers you're trying to connect to the shared project? - Are you joining to the project with another computer by opening the special ProjectData.tbp file from the local file hosting folder (or from the network drive)? More information about the correct procedure is available here http://www.teklabimsight.com/helpcenter/helpTopic.jsp?topic=bim_example_sharing_project_using_project_folder - If there exists any models in the project folder when a project is opened for the first time, the add new models button should appear and by clicking this button you can load the project models to the project http://www.teklabimsight.com/helpcenter/helpTopic.jsp?topic=bim_adding_new_models_from_default_model_folder - After changing some model locations and clicking the republish button, the ProjectData.tbp package existing in each member local project folder should be updated (if some file sharing solution is used to host the project information). Check that the modified time of the updated ProjectData.tbp package is same in all computers joined to the project. If that is not a case then the syncing of the file sharing solution is not working correctly. Hope we get further with the issue with this information. Apologies about all inconvenience. Thanks, Heikki

I went through this step by step again as you have outlined and it will not work correctly on the other computer I am testing it on. I am linking it through dropbox as the project folder and it is set to receive real-time updates but notifications are not coming through. I have done the republish but not everything gets updated. I have to close the open model and "view" again but it does not come in with the saved views or the settings. Notes are now coming through correctly however there is no icon to update the model as you show in the videos.
