Missing elements in imported IFC File

I exported a model to IFC, from within Tekla 17. When opened up in Tekla BIMsight, the structure is missing some slabs. I tried opening the same file with Solibri and it came out correctly. I have attached a snapshot for your reference. http://www.teklabimsight.com/photo.jsp?key=1bfbf541-6c02-3d56-091c-15160cc1

I have the similar issue where some slab objects will not show up in BIMSight but will show up in co-workers BIMSight. Nothing is filtered out. I have re-installed BIMSight but did not help. Any suggestions?

Hi Ghislain, Are you sure you've the latest Tekla BIMsight 1.4.1 version installed? Tekla BIMsight installation package contains an IFC import plugin, which reads the data from IFC file. This plugin is updated to every version, so it's possible that some objects that are missing in older version of Tekla BIMsight are viewed correctly if a later version is used. It's also possible that there has occured some error in the installation of Tekla BIMsight, and therefore, some objects are missing. To rule out the possibilities above, please reinstall Tekla BIMsight with these instructions http://www.teklabimsight.com/helpcenter/topic.jsp?id=729aad19-d9e7-4ef7-a326-017438f30fdb If that doesn't solve the issue please let me know and I'll help you further with the case. Hi, I have the same type of problems. I have an ifc file exported from BOCAD. Most of the elements are missing when this file is imported in BIMsight. In comparison, I tried to import it with Solibri, and the import is complete. See illustration : http://www.teklabimsight.com/photo.jsp?key=4081acad-29ee-5ca4-a6e7-0000c80b7e4c I tried to re-install BIMsight according to the advices below, but the problem is persisting. Do you have a suggestion to solve this problem ?

Hi, For me it seems that for a some reason the missing objects are not supported by the IFC plugin of Tekla BIMsight, and hence, they are not viewed correctly. Could you share the IFC model file with us to investigate the issue further. Please send the file to admin@teklabimsight.com email address. By the way, is there any other IFC exporting options in BOCAD that you could try out? Thanks, Heikki

Hello Admin, I have same question with above subject see attachment http://helpcenter.teklabimsight.com/photo.jsp?key=208aff38-dcda-769e-2225-0000827e94e1 Thank Ahmad J. Oil&Gas Offshore Sector

Hi Ahmad, Sorry to hear about the issue. Have you tried to export the model to IFC using the "Surface geometry" option as an export type, see the image below. This option should give the most reliable IFC model geometry result so it's ideal option to be used with Tekla BIMsight. Please let us know how it worked out. Thanks, Heikki http://helpcenter.teklabimsight.com/photo.jsp?key=5bfa5c77-6140-241d-c07c-0000bd623819

I have the same issue like JM V. I have an ifc file exported from BOCAD. Most of the elements are missing when this file is imported in BIMsight or in Tekla as a reference Model. In comparison, I tried to import it with AutoCAD2014, and the import is complete! I use Tekla Structures 20.0 SR7 / Tekla BIMSight 1.9.2 I then tried to install the latest BIMSight (which is 1.9.3) and astonishingly it shows me the whole model! How can i make it work as a reference model in Tekla 20.0? Does it work in Tekla 21.0? https://helpcenter.teklabimsight.com/photo.jsp?key=ae1b191a-7e9d-f205-804c-00006c7a94a5
