Hello, Thanks for the feedback. The transparency can be set for objects and models individually thus the button for global transparency was removed. http://www.teklabimsight.com/helpcenter/helpTopic.jsp?topic=bim_changing_color_for_models By being able to select the transparency for each model you can show for example your mechanical models in solid and everything else transparent making it easy to see how the systems are routed. Thanks, Ville

The problem is that the global switch solves the problem much more efficiently. What was once a click on a button is now a hidden function that is less than obvious that must be set for each model. I see it as a problem as we have users spanning from experts to those who are reluctant to use computers at all. So to sum it up. A big cosign on bringing back the global transparency switch.

Please bring back the transparency button. Xray is imo useless.

I found another MAJOR issue with this. If a precast concrete element is exported with reinforcement there is no longer any easy way to switch into a mode where the concrete and the rebar are reasonably rendered. Xray is no good for this. In order to do something that was once a one button move I now have to find all non rebar or insert parts and make them transparent by custom color. This is a big step back in usability for us and makes BIMsight much harder to use and through that harder to get people to use. Please fix this a.s.a.p.

Thanks for all the feedback; there are valid points presented and we'll improve this in the future versions. Thanks, Ville

Hi All, See an instruction video here http://www.teklabimsight.com/helpcenter/helpTopic.jsp?topic=bim_changing_color_for_models to see how the current visibility settings can be used for checking for example MEP routing or reviewing the rebars inside pad footings. (The video is the one on the right, see snapshot below) Thanks, Heikki http://www.teklabimsight.com/photo.jsp?key=6bb25c21-3878-45ca-49b7-000059aba707

Hi Heikki, Thanks for the explaination. However, I hope the plan is to get this back in new versions. Without this option, we as a concrete precast cannot use BIMSight as desired. The workaround you mention is not acceptable to us. Can you confirm that this option will be reintroduced in new versions? Kind regards, Robbert Sterk

Hi Robbert, As Ville already mentioned above, we'll improve the visibility settings in the future versions. Stay tuned! Thanks, Heikki

I agree, bring back the Global Transparency Button ASAP... our clients are also unhappy with this step backwards... come on guys lift your game! To retain the object default colours (by class from Tekla Structures) and set the transparcy with a one click option, is more sensible than the current option of making eveything one color and then, setting the transparency. Much much easier and better as it was. The Ghost view option, to me also seems seems to have little use or purpose, as nothing can be seen at all with the current "white" background.

Hi all, We have just released Tekla BIMsight 1.5.1! You can now adjust the level of transparency, both the whole project and selected objects. See the instruction video located in this page http://www.teklabimsight.com/helpcenter/helpTopic.jsp?topic=bim_switching_between_representation_modes to see how to do it. BR, Marko Myllymaa
