Hi, It is a known issue that navigation with large models, especially, if a model contains a lot of rebars may be quite troublesome. Enhancement on this problem is actually already available in Tekla Structures SR4, because from this version onwards it's possible to export rebars to IFC in a more "lighter" way. To get rebars exported in a lighter way from Tekla Structres the red line "value ( "j_sweptdisk", 0 )", which is shown in the attached snapshot needs to be added to export.inp file located in ..\TeklaStructures\17.0\applications\export folder . After adding this line j_sweptdisk option appears to Tekla Structures IFC export dialog (see snapshot below). By selecting it the reinforcements will be exported in a more lighter way. For example rebars of the Tekla BIMsight Demo Project have been exported by using this sweptdisk option. These "lighter" rebars are done accordingly to the IFC 2x3 standard, however, most of the softwares doesn't currently support rebars that have been exported to IFC with this option. Anyway, these "new" IFC rebars are compatible with Tekla BIMsight. Hope this improvement will facilitate your work with larger models in Tekla BIMsight and please ask if you've any other questions related on this sweptdisk option.
