Define rules for conflict checking and run conflict checks to validate your models. You can do conflict checking concurrently with visual checking.

Creating conflict rules

Create conflict rules to define which models and objects are checked. For example, create a rule to check steel frames against plumbing.

Conflict check properties

We recommend you to use individual models in conflict rules. When a model is updated and relinked to the project, the conflict rules are automatically modified to use the updated model.

You can also create conflict rules based on selected and visible objects. This way you can run conflict checks on the required objects only. However, you need to modify such conflict rules if you update and relink models that contain new objects.

Running conflict checks

When you have created a conflict rule, you can run a conflict check. If conflicts are found, the number of conflicts is shown in brackets next to the conflict rule name. In addition, conflict symbols appear in the model view and a list of conflicts is shown on the Conflicts tab.
