To combine models, add models to the master project. Position and scale the models if needed to correctly overlay them. It is important to know if any of the models differ from the agreed project coordinate system.

Organizing the models makes working with the combined models more easy. Group the models by system or trade. Sometimes one model may actually consist of several sub-models. By grouping in Tekla BIMsight it is possible to treat these sub-models separately or as one higher level model.

Adding models

You can add models to the project at any time, so you can start coordinating before all models are available. You can update incomplete models later.

Positioning models

Use the positioning tools to relocate the models that were not built according to the agreed coordinate system and origin. You can move, align and rotate models.

Scaling models

You can scale models if they have been built with different scales. For example, this could occur when mixing the imperial and metric systems.

Organizing models

Group models to collect and sort them in a logical order. You should create a group for each trade, for example, Structural Steel, Electrical and HVAC. This is a good practice when the total trade model is split into several sub-models, such as floor by floor or models built by separate subcontractors.
